Phyllis Vokey Long
Founder & Executive Director

As New Day’s founder, Phyllis Vokey Long serves as both our Executive Director and Supervising Therapist, LMFT #43695.
Prior to becoming an LMFT in 2006, she worked in a variety of non-profits and educational institutions. This included being program director at the Associated Students SDSU Child Development Center, a trainer and consultant at Kids Included Together SD, and an adjunct professor at Southwestern College, SDSU, and Bethel Seminary.
Additionally her expansive experience contains many roles in leadership, developing new ministries, leading therapy groups and Bible studies, facilitating seminars, and conference speaking.
Phyllis’ active vision for New Day and service in other organizations she’s involved with, flows from her love for God and passion to help others grow and discover they are not alone in this life.
In her free time, she enjoys life with her husband Frank, their children and grandchildren, and especially loves to reenergize with friends!

Heidi Sturch

Heidi Sturch has extensive expertise and skills in community service, public relations, and communication.
Her background includes facilitating Bible Study groups for adults and youth at the San Diego Rescue Mission, Journey Church, The Rock Church, and Christ Lutheran Church. This love for outreach has taken her overseas to serve in programs across Mexico, Russia, Costa Rica, and Greece.
Heidi has served on our Board for over 15 years. She’s a coordinator and speaker at women’s retreats and conferences all around the country. Her heart is to encourage people to step into who God has created them to be, embrace their purpose and to live their best life!

Kate Roloff

For over 10 years, Kate Roloff has served as a trusted advisor to the CEO on our New Day Board, providing leadership, governance and oversight, in addition to chairing the Program Development Committee, which oversees and develops all center programs.
Professionally, she spent over three decades in K-12 education as a teacher, principal, and administrative director. Working in both public and private institutions, Kate specialized in curriculum development, instruction methodologies and design for at-risk students.
Now retired and a dedicated Christian of 50+ years, Kate has long served in helping and leading workshops, women’s and children’s ministries, retreats, and Bible studies. She is a member of the Shadow Mountain Church in Alpine. She is married for 41 years, has three children and five grandchildren.

Lori Stone

Throughout her life, Lori has prioritized serving and supporting others, in both her faith and career. She believes in people embracing second chances and loves watching them come into new life as they choose growth.
Working at both companies and nonprofits, her professional background includes over 30 years experience in residential treatment centers, business development and management, customer service, and administrative. She currently works at Rhombus Counseling under Dr. Julie Hayden as the Finance Director and Business Development.
She is passionate about helping others choose a wellness lifestyle and healthy approach to their spirit, mind, and body. With her own testimony, Lori inspires hope and encourages others for complete wellness and life transformation.
A proud mom of three, Lori is currently earning her Masters in the field, so she can further help others transform and impact the community.
